FIFA SHIFTS NIGERIA, CAMEROON ENCOUNTER

The Federation of International Football Association have fixed the Group B 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon for Thursday, 31 August, 2017 in Uyo, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. FIFA announced the date for the game on Friday on their official website. The reverse fixture in Yaoundé is billed for Monday, September 4. The game in Uyo will come up at 7pm Nigerian time. According to the Super Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye, the reason for fixing the games on a week day is for television purposes. The Super Eagles top Group B with six points after two games while Cameroon are second with two points. Zambia are third on one point with Algeria bottom also on one point.

FIVE-YEAR DEAL FOR MARIANO

Lyon have completed their fourth signing of the summer with the acquisition of Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz , the Ligue 1 club have announced. Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz has joined Ligue 1 side Lyon, becoming their fourth signing of the summer transfer window. The club announced the news via Twitter . The 23-year-old Dominican Republic international had been a fringe player for Real for some time, earning most of his minutes with the B team. He flashed his talent in the Copa del Rey win over Cultural  Deportiva Leonesa last season, scoring a hat-trick in the second leg of the tie, but didn't see an increase in playing time afterward. While he still profiles as a solid prospect, Diaz didn't have a real future in the Spanish capital, where even Alvaro Morata struggled for playing time behind Karim Benzema. Real Madrid guard their prospects: Oscar Rodriguez pens four-year deal

R eal Madrid have announced that talented youngster Oscar Rodriguez has penned a new four-year contract at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. The 19-year-old has been tracked by Manchester City, Monaco and Bayern Munich, who had all voiced an interest in taking him, with the English side submitting an offer. However, he will remain in the Spanish capital after signing his first professional contract in a deal that will keep him at the club until 2021. Rodriguez is the current captain of Guti's Juvenil A side and was a three-time champion during his time there. He is now expected to become a key figure for the Castilla outfit next season and hopes are very high for him at Los Blancos, which is why they were so keen to tie him down. It is also believed that if his development continues as the club think it will, he could receive a competitive first-team debut over the course of the coming campaign.

BARCA ACTIVATE THE BUY-BACK CLAUSE DEULOFEU

Barcelona have activated the buy-back clause in Everton forward Gerard Deulofeu 's contract. The Spain U21 captain was not part of Everton boss Ronald Koeman's plans last season and spent the campaign on loan at AC Milan. It is understood Barcelona had until July 1 to activate the clause and now they have done that Deulofeu, 23, will sign a two-year contract. The Catalan giants sold their La Masia graduate to the Toffees for £4.3m in 2015. "FC Barcelona have activated the buy-back clause for Gerard Deulofeu," said a Barcelona statement. "In the following days the terms will be agreed with both Everton and the player. Deulofeu's contract will run until June 30 2019." Source: Sky Sports

Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez opens up on his next move

Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez says he has decided where he will be playing next season. But the Chile forward did not confirm whether he will be lining up in club football alongside his international team-mate Claudio Bravo at Manchester City or remaining with the Gunners. Sanchez has also been linked with Bayern Munich. Sanchez, whose contract at Arsenal expires next summer, is currently on international duty at the Confederations Cup, where his manager Juan Antonio Pizzi has spoken about him being a player "every club would want to sign" . Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have been offered 20 per cent pay rises by Arsenal in a bid to persuade the star duo to stay at the Emirates Stadium, according to the  Daily Mail  . Both players have previously rejected new contracts worth around £250,000 a week, but have been offered the new incentive which will be triggered if Arsenal finish in the top four next season.

Real are reportedly prepared to accept an offer from United for Morata, who has confirmed to both Madrid president Florentino Perez and coach Zinedine Zidane that he wants to be playing at Old Trafford next season. DECISIVE DATE FOR VERRATTI'S FUTURE

Verratti is due to return to pre-season training with PSG on that date and Barca are waiting for an indication from the Italy international regarding his future plans. Barca have yet to make an offer for Verratti, but if he fails to report for the start of training, then the club’s stance is likely to change.

SEVILLA LOOK AT CHELSEA DUO IN VITOLO DEAL

Mario Balotelli has signed a one-year contract extension at Nice that keeps him at the club next season. Nice announced the news on the team's website on Sunday with a photo of Balotelli signing his contract alongside president Jean-Pierre Rivere and general manager Julien Fournier.
