FIFA SHIFTS NIGERIA, CAMEROON ENCOUNTER

The Federation of International Football Association have fixed the Group B 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon for Thursday, 31 August, 2017 in Uyo, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. FIFA announced the date for the game on Friday on their official website. The reverse fixture in Yaoundé is billed for Monday, September 4. The game in Uyo will come up at 7pm Nigerian time. According to the Super Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye, the reason for fixing the games on a week day is for television purposes. The Super Eagles top Group B with six points after two games while Cameroon are second with two points. Zambia are third on one point with Algeria bottom also on one point.

FIVE-YEAR DEAL FOR MARIANO

Lyon have completed their fourth signing of the summer with the acquisition of Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz , the Ligue 1 club have announced. Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz has joined Ligue 1 side Lyon, becoming their fourth signing of the summer transfer window. The club announced the news via Twitter . The 23-year-old Dominican Republic international had been a fringe player for Real for some time, earning most of his minutes with the B team. He flashed his talent in the Copa del Rey win over Cultural  Deportiva Leonesa last season, scoring a hat-trick in the second leg of the tie, but didn't see an increase in playing time afterward. While he still profiles as a solid prospect, Diaz didn't have a real future in the Spanish capital, where even Alvaro Morata struggled for playing time behind Karim Benzema. R eal Madrid have announced that talented youngster Oscar Rodriguez has penned a new four-year contract at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. The 19-year-old has been tracked by Manchester City, Monaco and Bayern Munich, who had all voiced an interest in taking him, with the English side submitting an offer. However, he will remain in the Spanish capital after signing his first professional contract in a deal that will keep him at the club until 2021. Rodriguez is the current captain of Guti's Juvenil A side and was a three-time champion during his time there. He is now expected to become a key figure for the Castilla outfit next season and hopes are very high for him at Los Blancos, which is why they were so keen to tie him down. It is also believed that if his development continues as the club think it will, he could receive a competitive first-team debut over the course of the coming campaign.
